Our Beginnings:
The building we are in today started out as a Fitness Center, and over 40 years ago God called a man named Bob McCloud to Abbeville to plant a church that became Abbeville Assembly of God. During this church plant, many young couples were saved and filled with Holy Spirit. A move so strong, that many of those couples are still serving in the church today. After many years of serving, Pastor Bob was called away to plant another church, and Pastor Don Mahan came in to replace him.
After several years of service, Pastor Don resigned and moved back to his home town. At this time, Hurricane Lili in 2002 came through and destroyed half of the building. In this moment, the church had to make a decision, one that would either shut the doors, or one that believed God had other plans.
During this season, Pastor Lane Payne was pastoring a church over on charity street here in Abbeville called the Prayer Center. And a long story short, Pastor Lane became the new pastor of now called New Life Church. Pastor Lane has served this body and community for over 20 years. At the end of 2022, Pastor Lane felt God moving him in a different direction and at the beginning of 2023 retired from his position as senior pastor and started a ministry called Geno's Ministries.
On January 1, 2023, Pastor Christopher Theall along with his wife Rebecca stepped in as senior pastors of New Life Church. Pastor Chris is the son in law of former Pastor Lane Payne. Pastor Chris always uses the statement that he went from sleeping under the pews to the pulpit. Because his parents were one of the first couples to get saved under Bob McCloud. For over 39 years, Pastor Chris has been attending, serving, and leading New Life Church. Pastor Becky has served in the Kids Ministry for over 20 years along with leading worship. Both Chris and Becky are committed to seeing lives healed, redeemed, and forever changed under the banner of the name of Jesus. Over the next 20+ years, their desire is to see a community transformed, families restored, and the next generation stepping up as leaders of their community. Their expectation is to see an open heaven over New Life Church, and see a great harvest surrender at the feet of Jesus. Will you be in that number?

Our Purpose
Our Purpose as a church is to meet the needs of this community. To bring the salvation message packed with the power and anointing of heaven. To change lives, marriages, and families. To see the sick healed, the addicted set free, the poor rich, the naked clothed, and the thirsty given something to drink. Our purpose is no just to exist, but to impact, impart, transform and reveal.
